Thank you to Shmuel Thaler of the Santa Cruz Sentinel, for visiting my studio and taking photos for the local paper! The people I'm speaking to in this photo are folks I met at The Idea Fab Lab while prototyping the LED lighting for my lighted disc sculpture called "Looking Up", which is exhibited at Big Basin Vineyards Wine Bar at 525 Pacific Ave. I met many inspiring creatives at the Fab Lab, located at the Wrigley Building on Westside Santa Cruz-- and when I have more time I hope to become a member and continue my lighting expolorations. See the link below to Shmuel's article.
I had hundreds of visitors last weekend, and sold well. I still have work left, so I hope you can make it to next weekend, which is encore or All County weekend October 19th and 20th.
I love this time of year, when I get to meet people who take my art home with them in some form or another... whether its a purchased piece, a photograph or a card, this is my contribution to the world -- I love when someone falls in love with a piece and has to bring it home, and when I can inspire someone to go home and create something beautiful. it's incredibly meaningful to me.
The weather was amazing for an art show. People came later in the afternoon once it cooled down a bit, and many people came at 5 hoping i'd still be open. I usually don't pack up until nearly 6 pm, just for this reason. i'm hoping for another beautful weekend next weekend. This coming one is South county and i'll be touring Sunday, trying to get in as many great artists as I can. i'll be visiting some of my favorites, and some new people too.
I hope you can stop by my place if you haven't already...
